Nordic Hospitality Conference
NoChintz Creative Director, Lucy Goddard, attended the Nordic Hospitality Conference in Copenhagen last month.
In it’s second year the event by Dorte Bagge, Kvadrat and Mads Arlien-søborg; ‘We Made It’, boasted 2 days of talks and a program of speakers including Travel & Hospitality editor of Future Laboratory, the MD of Zoku and founding partner of Citizen M as well as MD of the 25Hours group amongst others. Design practices Universal Design Studio, AM PM Studio, Stylt Trampoli, Space Copenhagen and Snøhetta all took stage to share their thoughts on the latest trends in the hospitality industry, exploring sustainability and guest experience as a topic.
Away from conference we also explored The Audo.
A visionary project by Bjarne Hansen, former CEO and founder of MENU with dream team Norm Architects and Nathan Williams of Kinfolk. A ‘House’ of design and meeting place comprising of a 10 room residence hotel, ‘concept store, material lab, coffee house, restaurant and creative work + event space.
A tour of The Krane.
A single room concept hotel; the steel structure, a former coal crane offering 360 views across the sea and city. A completely unique space including a private terrace and a spa.
We stayed at Ottilia.
The new offering by Brochner Hotels and sister Hotel of SP34 in the Carlsberg District, with roof top bar and terrace. Industrial design at it’s best; raw concrete walls, lighting installations and open bathrooms. Our room had a large panorama round window complete with day bed.
And took a look around Sanders.
Set across 3 townhouses dating back to 1869 this 54 bedroom hotel was conceived by Alexander Kølpin. A colonial style luxurious space to sleep and dine.
On the whole a great trip with lots of inspiration and insight.
