Lambert and Fils NYC Showroom Tour

Last week, NoChintz had been kindly invited by Richard at Relay to take part in a virtual tour of the Lambert and Fils NYC showroom. Hosted virtually by the wonderful Pierre-Antone and Darcy. We first understood the showrooms inception – how the opening of a showroom had been a longtime dream; wanting a physical space to represent the brand, to mark their 10th anniversary and offer a place to interact with guests and be part of a community but then only 24 hours of lease agreement – lockdown. Pierre over in Montreal still hadn’t been to the physical space yet due to the pandemic and that meant Darcy was in charge of the camera whilst the tour began.

A beautiful airy white shell of a space, set in a wide views over to Duane Park in Manhattan – the day is sunny and just starting but it felt like our end to the day as 17.30 struck here.

With a few key pieces in the space, the Atelier range which have beautifully curated with complementing items in the space such a wallpaper from Calico and arched mirrors from Bower Studio and a rug from cc-tapis – all brands we would absolutely love to find the right opportunity to work with and brands we admire on a personal level.

The range we see today are real works of art in themselves, really showcasing the level of talent, detail and refinement you see from the brand. To see them in situ (on screen) I can get a sense of how impactful each item can be within a space how they anchor certain areas if you were to move under or place a piece of furniture under or even just create a sense of containment within a high space just like the Hutchison line in particular.

Each was the star of the show in their own right, they really owned each space they occupied but the most excitement was seeing the Sainte collection in situ and seeing how the layering of tinted glass interacted with light and movement – a pendant we are lucky enough to have specified on a future project.

We end the tour with dreams of getting out to visit sometime, and comparing Manchesters Northern Quarter to a fake New York but try not to suggest too much that they should come visit, more the other way around please…

Thanks guys!
