Black White Denim, 10 years on

We first worked with Black White Denim in 2010 as they opened the doors of their first store in Wilmson, Cheshire. Specialising in capsule wardrobes based on the simple observation that black, white and denim constitute the foundation colours of any stylish woman’s wardrobe. This year, they purchased a new premise and came back to us to help them to relocate and create a new interiors scheme which captures how far the brand has come.

As a small independent the client needed a cost effective solution which didn’t compromise on style.

We wanted to provide a bright and fresh environment for customers, with a paired back palette in line with the brands ‘less is more’ approach. Concrete poured floor, bleached plywood and monochrome paint scheme deliver all that is needed to sell the story of Black White Denim.

A sense of hospitality is brought into the space to give customers opportunity to relax, with comfortable furniture, coffee area and room scents. Inspiring customers to stay longer.

A more minimal approach to the interior creates an uncluttered space where the clothes can be the hero. We wanted to give the BWD team the flexibility to easily re merchandise the space as new products drop. We opted for a mix of off the shelve and bespoke solutions, to manage the budget and time constraints yet ensure the space presented as a unique retail experience. Lush planting and bleached plywood add and organic vitality to the scheme.

Despite a turbulent time for retailers the store instantly saw increased footfall and has been positively received by locals, impressed by the standard or retail experience now available to them.
