In order to appeal to the professional market, build trust with clients and provide a fair representation of the professional service supplied by Medika, a sense of integrity and longevity is instilled throughout the design.

More traditional materials in the palette such as stucco wall finishes and honed black stone take on a new meaning when married with more trend-led, contemporary elements within the scheme. These two narratives work in tandem - modernity and antiquity; pioneering youth and wise old-age; creating more defined moments of contrast and giving a real sense of looking to the future whilst harnessing all the insight of the past.

A Mediterranean palette, inspired by the birthplace of modern medicine, provides a warmth and tactility which ensures that this clinical environment refrains from ever feeling cold. Circular forms and archways envelop clients reassuringly. Voluptuous, full upholstery forms, leafy greenery and glowing golden lighting bring a real sense of unbridled vitality to the reception and waiting areas. In the treatment rooms, antimicrobial surfaces can exist in warm neutral tones, a welcome change from stark white. Other decidedly more brutalist materials such as polished steel, employed for its sterility and practicality within a medical setting, is softened by velvet fabrics and lime wash walls, creating striking moments of contrast and considered layers of visual interest.
